Liverpool International Music Festival
A few weeks ago, we did a run down of the best events and places to head to in Liverpool this summer and yesterday, the line up for the hotly anticipated Liverpool International Music Festival was announced.
Last year, this mostly free event was a huge hit. The sun shone across the August bank holiday and Sefton Park was full of free live music- with what seemed like the whole city grabbing a spot on the grass.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be returning to the park with a free concert- although this might not sound like your cup of tea, believe us, it’s worth seeing. Followed by a huge fireworks display, this was one of our highlights last year so we can’t wait to see their return.
Offering a flash from the past, Shaggy will be headlining the free Sefton Park stage on the Sunday evening- along with Boy George who will be performing over the weekend.
This year, there will be more independent stages dotted around the park showcasing the likes of The Tea Street Band and The Farm.
There will be other events going on around the city including the Boiler Room, which will host a range of DJ’s and live acts in secret locations around Liverpool.
