This summer, Liverpool has been running all of its fantastic events as part of ‘One Magnificent City’ and this weekend, the fun continues with ‘Transatlantic 175 – From the Mersey to Manhattan.’

Coinciding with the weekend where those across the pond will be celebrating Independence day, this event will see the waterfront come alive with live music, glamour, food and one special ship.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday 4th July with ‘The Very Big Catwalk’ in front of the Liver Buildings and then there will be an open-air concert hosted by renowned Liverpool DJ, Greg Wilson, playing a mixture of Motown, Northern Soul, funk and disco.

Once the party is over, the Queen Mary 2 ship will set sail for New York, recreating its maiden voyage from 1840.

On Sunday 5th July, there will be a classic car cavalcade featuring 175 vintage motors, lining up in front of the Liver Buildings from 11am – 6pm.

The ‘Eat the Atlantic‘ food festival is also taking place across the weekend. Based on Mann island, you’ll be able to sample some great street food and drinks, with inspiration taken from North America.

– Enjoy!
