Free events this summer in Liverpool

Liverpool always has a great events calendar and this Summer is no different. The fun begins tonight with Light Night, an annual event with over 50 museums, galleries and venues across the city staying open until late. Here’s the definitive guide on where to be seen this summer in the city and it’s all free!

17th May (tonight)- Light Night and the Reopening of Central library

24-28th May- Battle of the Atlantic celebration on the waterfront

7th- 9th June- Mersey River Festival and Music on the waterfront; free music, street theatre and lots more on the Pier Head

22nd-23rd June- Africa Oye, brilliant festival with live music and lovely food. Perfect if you live around the Sefton Park/Lark lane area

12th-20th July- Brazillica, Bringing Brazil’s carnival to the streets of Liverpool

3rd August- Liverpool Pride Festival, spanning across Dale Street and the waterfront

23rd-25th August- Creamfields, Our only non free event on here, but a brilliant Liverpool festival to head to

24th-26th August- Liverpool international music festival, the revamped Matthew Street festival promises big things

7th-8th September-Liverpool food and drink festival, amazing food and lots of entertainment

26th September- 6th October-Liverpool Comedy Festival, shows still being confirmed
