Winter Celebrations in Liverpool

We think it’s safe to say it’s pretty freezing in Liverpool at the moment! Luckily, there’s lots going on in the city that will take our minds off the bitter chill in the next few weeks leading up to Christmas. With only 5 weeks to go to the big day, it’s about time we donned our scarves and hats and got out there!

Liverpool One is always bustling around the festive run up and this year, their ‘Ice Festival‘ doesn’t disappoint. This time round, they’ve got an ice rink, an ice bar and a new cafe, all located on Chavasse Park. Everyone loves a big of ice skating so now’s the time to grab your flat mates and get your skates on, they’ve got student prices available too so don’t forget your card.

The ice bar is set at -3° so make sure you wrap up warm. Thankfully you get a free vodka shot which might help ease your cold toes!

Along with the familiar Christmas market which runs in Church Street every year, there’s a new pop up on Williamson’s Square. The ‘Urban Winter Village‘ will be home to some of Liverpool’s independents so the perfect place to head for some Christmas shopping.

If your student home is a little further from the city centre, Allerton Road is the place to head next weekend (30th Nov.) From 9am-2pm, there is a special Christmas market and lots of the shops along the road will be inviting you to share a mince pie and a glass of wine with them.

Enjoy!
