Annual Event

Liverpool Matthew Street Festival

As the Line up is announced for Merseyside’s biggest festival we wondered how many students will be going down to Matthew Street to get involved in the hustle and bustle of the city!?

The Matthew street festival is the largest free street festival in Europe, musicians from around the globe flood into the city centre to take part in this festival from places such as Brazil, Canada and Mexico. So as a student in Liverpool you should feel proud that the festival is right on your doorstep.

Although most of you students are a little young, it’s the Beatles 50th anniversary so to help us celebrate there will be performances from the Searchers, Gerry and the pacemakers, Beryl Marsden and the Merseybeats.

Taking place over August Bank holiday weekend is over 80 hours of free live music, 70 acts to perform and 5 outdoor stages for people to watch and listen to some wonderful musicians.

The full line up is printed below and will take place from mid-day to 6pm. Why not go down to the city centre with your student friends and find out exactly why the Matthew Street Festival is so successful.
