Sefton Park

Sefton Park

Sefton Park is a beautiful Grade 1 listed historic park, within walking distance of both Lark Lane and Smithdown Road.

Lark Lane boasts a number of independent shops, bars and restaurants. The community centre inside the Old Police Station hosts regular events such as markets, craft fairs and pop up cafes, and a number of different classes take place on and around Lark Lane, making this the ideal location for those who like to get involved in their local community.

The bars and restaurants bars found on Lark Lane serve a wide range of cuisines from all over the world, and some have practically become institutions such as Maranto’s, which serves up the best of Italian American cuisine (think huge pizzas and juicy burgers); Keith’s Wine Bar (don’t let the shabby paint job put you off), a laid back bar that’s perfect for huddling around a table with a bottle of wine, and Elif, a Turkish restaurant whose BBQ pit makes for some pretty amazing tasting dishes (the Patlicanli Kebab is a bit special.)

Love all things vintage? Head to Larks, an old-fashioned gift emporium filled with lovely gifts, accessories and vintage treasures. They also have a 2000 sq ft warehouse called Gasp just around the corner, which is crammed with a wide range of retro furnishings.
Lark Lane also features a farmer’s market on the 4th Saturday of the month, so great for stocking up on local fresh produce. But if you’re thinking about supermarket options then there you can head to the local Co-Op Food, which also accepts student discount. Bonus!

Sefton Park, situated at the top of Lark Lane, is a 200-acre Grade 1 listed historic park, which features a café, waterfalls, caves, and a boating lake. The park also contains the Palm House, which houses the Liverpool Botanical Collection, and hosts many different events throughout the year, including concerts, meditation, and pop-up film screenings.
